Pre-selection process for the Davis Cup, 2022

The pre-selection process for the Davis Cup began with 16 registered players competing in a Round Robin format, divided into pools A and B. The top eight players will then advance to the final selection, with the best four being chosen to represent Bhutan in the first-ever Davis Cup in Bahrain. The selection process is expected to take 3-4 days.We wish the best of luck to all participating players and encourage those who do not qualify to keep hope alive, as the Davis Cup will be held annually.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) upgraded Bhutan Tennis Federation (BTF) from the class C to class B1 member during the ITF’s annual general meeting held in Madrid, Spain, on December 4.  The voting was held among 206 national tennis federations under the ITF to determine whether BTF is eligible for full membership.
